Trump Says He Will Not Attend Joe Biden’s Inauguration

By Newsroom

US President Donald Trump has said he will not attend the inauguration ceremony for President-elect Joe Biden, marking yet another break in tradition before his end of office.

Mr. Biden will officially become the 46th President of the United States on January 20th, and many commentators have worried whether Mr. Trump had planned to incite more chaos on Inauguration Day.

“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th,” Trump confirmed in a post to Twitter.

Mr Trump is expected to travel to his Florida resort ahead of the event.

His confirmation of non-attendance came shortly after claiming his supporters would have a “giant voice long into the future”.

Mr Trump wrote on Twitter: “The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!”
