TSTT: Most Services Restored Following Vandalism Of Cable Wires

By Newsroom

The Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago, TSTT, says most of its services have been restored following acts of vandalism to its Fibre-Optic and Copper cables at the Eastern side of the Cross Crossing Bridge in San Fernando, which impacted thousands of customers over the long weekend

Crews worked over Sunday and the Emancipation Day holiday on Monday to restore services to impacted customers following Sunday’s act of vandalism on one of the company’s critical cable arteries in South Trinidad.

A statement from TSTT said significant progress has been made which means service has returned for most customers, “while others continue to experience intermittent or disrupted service during the restoration efforts. “

Meanwhile, a police investigation has been launched, with Acting Commissioner of Police, Mc Donald Jacob, along with officers from the San Fernando Criminal Investigation Department visiting the site on Sunday.
