T&TEC Conducts Upgrade Tests At Cove Plant In Tobago

By Newsroom

Tobagonians have been advised that the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission will be conducting the final testing of a new engine control system which has been installed as part of the upgrade/replacement of an obsolete system at the Cove Power Station.

The activity is scheduled from 11:30am-3:30pm on Sunday, October 16th.

T&TEC advises that there are no planned outages associated with the upgrade, however it assured that “in the unlikely event that an emergency outage is required, the Commission has systems in place to restore the supply to customers in the shortest possible time”.

Last Wednesday, the entire island lost power due to an issue at the Cove Station.

Supply was restored to most areas within an hour.
