Official Statement from T&TEC:

The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) has been advised by the medical authorities that a suspected Covid 19 case had visited the Marabella Service Centre.

It should be noted, that the medical personnel did not instruct the closure of the Service Centre.

However, out an abundance of caution and commitment to our employees and customers of ensuring that proper health and safety measures are adhered to, the Commission took a decision to close the Service Centre to perform the necessary sanitization prior to reopening tomorrow –29th July, 2020.

T&TEC continues to adhere to the protocols as outlined by the Ministry of Health to limit the spread of the virus among staff and between members of the public.

This includes the installation of physical barriers, hand wash sinks and sanitizing liquid dispensers; the use of infrared thermometers to screen all person (employees and the public) entering buildings and the distribution of masks and related PPE to all staff for use on the job.

T&TEC is duty bound to provide a safe and reliable electricity supply to citizens of this country and continues to liaise with the Ministry of Health to ensure that its safety measures are in keeping with their standards for the protection of employees and the public.
