One man has been arrested and two shotguns were seized in separate incidents, during ongoing anti-crime exercises conducted in the Southern and Central Divisions recently.
According to the TTPS, In the first exercise, officers of the Ste Madeleine Police Station were on mobile patrol around 3:45 am, on Friday 12th July 2024, when they observed an unoccupied Nissan Almera motor vehicle parked at a mall.
A search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding one shotgun in the backseat. One male suspect was arrested in connection with the find. Meanwhile, in the Freeport district, officers conducted an exercise between 7 am and 10 am yesterday, during which they proceeded to Maraj Street, where they conducted a search.
The search resulted in the discovery of one homemade shotgun and one 12 gauge cartridge. And, in the San Juan district, Criminal Investigations Department officers conducted an exercise between 10 am and 1 pm, yesterday, during which one suspect was arrested in connection with a report of Wounding with Intent.
The suspect, a San Juan man, is also wanted in connection with several other offences committed in the district.
