The TTPS has disclosed that on Thursday 25th September, 2025, coordinated Drug Block Operations were conducted in the Manzanilla and Biche districts. The operations resulted in the recovery of two illegal firearms, ammunition, and one arrest. Between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., officers carried out a comprehensive anti-crime exercise targeting four (4) known drug blocks in the Manzanilla district:
Eastern Main Road, Manzanilla #3
Nariva Road
Clarke Trace
Depot Road
The operation was coordinated by Senior Superintendent Paponette, ASP Lee Tang, Inspector Ramdeen, and Inspector Mahabir, and supervised by Sgt. Mohammed. It involved officers from the Manzanilla Police Post, the Northern Operations Task Force (NOTF), the K-9 Unit, and the Multi-Operational Police Section (MOPS).
During a search of an abandoned structure at Depot Road, officers discovered one (1) Venezuelan-made Conavenca shotgun along with two (2) 12-gauge cartridges. Investigations are ongoing, led by No. 13394 PC Maxime.
In a separate incident, a 62-year-old man was arrested for possession of apparatus. PC Cortez is continuing enquiries. Six (6) Stop and Search forms were completed during the operation, which concluded without incident.
A similar operation was conducted in the Biche District from 3:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., targeting four (4) known drug blocks:

Lewis Trace
Charuma
Oliver Trace, Cushe
While conducting searches at Oliver Trace, Cushe, officers discovered one (1) homemade shotgun. Investigations are ongoing, led by PC Singh.
