Twenty Seven People Arrested During Police Exercises

Police have arrested 27 people during police exercises conducted in the Port of Spain and Southern Divisions on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

According to the TTPS, between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., a mobile patrol exercise was carried out in the Central Police Station district. During the exercise, officers received information about an armed man in the Rigault Street, Laventille area. The team proceeded to the location and conducted a thorough search, which resulted in the arrest of one man for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

In the Southern Division, members of the Criminal Investigations Department executed an operation that led to the arrest of several individuals for various outstanding crimes. These included:

A Claxton Bay man for office breaking and larceny
A Princes Town man for house breaking and larceny
Two other men from Princes Town for larceny of a motor vehicle and larceny of a bicycle

Additionally, a warrant exercise in the Southern Division led to the execution of 35 warrants and the arrest of 22 individuals. Among those arrested was a 48-year-old labourer from St. Joseph Village, San Fernando, who was held on a High Court Bench Warrant for attempted murder.

Officers also issued 26 affiliation warrants and four first instance warrants during the operation.
Investigations are ongoing.
