Two people have been arrested, along with a firearm, ammunition and cocaine seized during anti-crime exercise in the Southern Division yesterday.
According to the TTPS, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on August 22nd 2024, officers conducted an operation to address recent violent crimes in the area. Based on gathered surveillance, the team visited several locations and executed checks and search warrants.
During the exercise, a 30-year-old man from White Trace, St. Mary’s Village, Moruga, was arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition, while another 30-year-old man from Buen Intento Road, Princes Town, was detained for possessing 3.8 grams of cocaine.
The exercises were coordinated by Snr Supt Soodeen and supervised by Supt Singh, ASP Phillip, and Insp Mohammed, with support from Sgts Charles, Steele, and Teeluck, and included officers from the Southern Division Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Southern Division (SDTF), Southern Division Gang Unit, Guard and Emergency Branch (GEB), and Canine Unit.
Also, a coordinated warrant exercise was conducted across the Eastern and Western areas of the Southern Division, beginning at 10 am on August 21, 2024, and concluding at 3 am on August 22, 2024. The operation, led by Snr Supt Soodeen, Supt Singh, ASP Ramsaran, ASP Jobe, and Insp Ag Ramsaran, with supervision by Cpl Madhoo and PC Mahase, resulted in the execution of 26 warrants and the arrest of 15 individuals.
