Two Charged In Connection With Drugs, Ammo Find

Charges have been laid against two men who were arrested for marijuana and ammunition possession during an anti-crime exercised conducted in the Besson Street district on Friday. 

During the exercise, a search warrant for illegal firearms and ammunition was executed at the home of Nicholas Forde, 32, of Piquette#1, Laventille, where six rounds of nine milimetre ammunition were allegedly found and seized from under a bed.

Also simultaneously, David Laborde, 18, of Blanc Street, San Juan, the driver of a blue Balino wagon who was present at the time, was searched and a quantity of cannabis amounting to 400 grammes was found and seized.

Both men were arrested and taken to the Besson Street Police Station where they were charged for the offences by PC Garner.

The exercise continued and the officers proceeded to the Canada Plannings and Beverly Hills, Laventille, and based on information received, several vacant apartments were searched, during which WPC Skeete found and seized a quantity of cannabis amounting to 300 grammes.

Investigations are continuing.
