Two men will appear in court today, charged with the kidnapping of husband and wife Narine and Mattie Maraj, which took place on January 8th.

Devon London, 23, and Ryan Ramoutarsingh, 24, were formally charged with the crime yesterday.

Earlier, total of nine people, including a 16 year old, had been held for questioning in connection with the kidnapping.

Both victims managed to escape their abductors days after they were snatched.

The investigation was supervised by Acting Commissioner of Police, Mc Donald Jacob and DCP (Ag.) Wendell Williams, coordinated by Snr. Supt. Joseph Chandool and ASP Ramdass, and was closely supervised by Insp. Callender.

The investigation also involved personnel of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, the Criminal Investigations Department, the Special Operations Response Teams, the Special Investigations Unit and officers of the Central Division.
