Two held for AR 15 rifle and ammunition

Two men were arrested and one AR 15 assault rifle fitted with a magazine and five rounds of ammunition seized, during an anti-crime exercise in the San Juan district.

According to the TTPS:

“Today, Sunday 12th April, 2020, between 6:00 am and 8:00 am, an exercise was conducted in the San Juan Police district spearheaded by Snr. Supt. Thompson coordinated by Insp Bruno, supervised by Cpl. Young and included members of the Western Division Joint Army Patrol Unit.

During the exercise, officers executed a search warrant for firearms and ammunition at the home of a 22-year-old man of, William Street, San Juan, a 27-year-old man who was also present at the residence at the time. A search was conducted in the presence of both men, one AR 15 assault rifle fitted with a magazine and five rounds ammunition was found in the kitchen area. Both men were arrested and taken to the Carenage Police Station along with the exhibit to be charged.”
