A 33-year-old man was scheduled to appear before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate today, charged with raping and sexually assaulting two girls, ages 6 and 13.

The man was nabbed by officers of the Child Protection Unit following a report made by a 13-year-old girl that, while at her cousin’s home, she and her six-year-old cousin were attacked by a man unknown to them.

According the 13-year-old girl, she was awoken by her six-year-old cousin who asked her if she knew a man who was standing in the doorway.

The 13-year-old did not recognize the man who proceeded to cover her face with a towel before allegedly sexually assaulting her in the presence of her six-year-old cousin.

He was arrested on December 3rd following investigations.

In another case, a 56 year old man has been charged with sexually touching his 13 year old cousin.

The charges arose out of a report made by a 13-year old girl that sometime between November and December 2019, while at the home of her cousin in Princes Town, she was sexually assaulted by the man.

The child reported the incident to her mother, who then took the matter to police.

He was scheduled to appear before a Princes Town Magistrate on Monday.
