Two Rescued As Distressed Vessel Docks At Chaguaramas

By Newsroom

Two people who were trapped at sea last evening, were able to safely return to land early this morning, thanks to collaborative efforts between the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard and the Yachting Services Association.

The Coast Guard made initial contact with the boat in distress in the vicinity of the Hibiscus platform,  accompanying it to the North Coast of Trinidad.

Representatives of the Yachting Services Association were then able to make arrangements for the vessel to be docked as it entered the Chaguaramas Bay area.

“The TTCG wishes to recognize the efforts of North Post Radio, the captain and crew of MV Delta Sailor and YSATT for the invaluable assistance they provided in this situation. Their efforts are a fine example of the collaboration necessary for the successful resolution of search and rescue cases and in this regard, they are to be commended,” a statement on Wednesday evening said.
