Two people had to be rushed to hospital for emergency care following a fire which broke out at NP’s facility in Sea Lots this afternoon.

This was confirmed via a statement from NP, in which the company explained that the explosion took place while a contractor was on site extracting gas from a storage tank during a routine repair exercise.

Fire officials from the Wrightson Road station responded to the blaze shortly before 1pm and have managed to successfully quell the blaze.
