Union Leaders Meet With AG Over Public Sector Vaccine Mandate Today

By Newsroom

Fifteen trade unions under the Joint Trade Union Movement will come together for a meeting with the Attorney General this afternoon, as consultations begin ahead of government’s vaccine mandate policy for the public sector.

AG Faris Al Rawi announced yesterday that he had written to the unions seeking the meeting, with the intent of gaining insight for the piecing together of the legislation.

The meeting will begin at 4:30pm.

Meantime, ahead of this afternoon’s meeting, the Oilfield Workers Trade Union, led by President Ancel Roget, followed through with its protest in front of White Hall, over government’s vaccine mandate which comes into effect mid-January for all public sector employees.

The union believes more should have been done, prior to such a mandate, to allay the concerns of the vaccine hesitant.
