Venezuelan and Mexican Plead Guilty To Fraud Charges

Two foreigners have been sentenced to two years’ hard labour for charges related to ABM Fraud.

Simon Eduardo  Farias Romero a Venezuelan National, and  Francisco Javier Gil Rivera who is a Mexican National both pleaded guilty to the charge of trafficking in counterfeit cards when they appeared before a magistrate on Tuesday.

They were both arrested at the Trincity Mall on December 15th when they were found tampering with the  Scotiabank ATM located at the Mall.

A search warrant was later executed at Tony’s Guesthouse located at Papnis Drive, Petit Valley, where the suspects were staying and cops seized an additional 14 cards belonging to citizens of   Trinidad and Tobago.

 The men were charged on Tuesday 17th December 2019.
