Cedros Police have arrested a Venezuelan migrant for possession of a firearm and ammunition in the district.

On Wednesday 5th August, 2020, between the hours of 4 pm and 7pm, a joint exercise was conducted in the Cedros district with officers of the Customs and Exercise Division. 

While on patrol, officers spotted a 23-year-old man walking along Granville Old Road, Cedros, with a 12-gauge shotgun in his hand.

The man was immediately intercepted by officers and searched, the officers also discovered two 12-gauge rounds and six 9mm ammunition on his person.

The 23-year old migrant was immediately arrested for the offence of possession of a firearm and ammunition.

He is currently being quarantined after communication with the Chief Medical Officer.
