Venezuelan Children To Receive Letters Of Admission For New School Year

By Newsroom

Venezuelan migrant children who have been approved to start the new academic year in September will receive their letters of admission today.

Education Minister Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, along with other ministry stakeholders, will also host a news conference this afternoon to detail preparations ahead of the start of the new term.

The admission of migrant children into the school system is in compliance with the amended Immigration Regulations, and applies only to children of parents who are legally registered under government’s migrant framework.

Guidelines for the admission of Venezuelan migrant children into schools in Trinidad and Tobago were developed in collaboration with the Ministry of National Security and shall apply to Venezuelan nationals under the age of 18.
