WASA: Cut In Water Supply Tomorrow To Facilitate Works At Point Fortin Desalination Plant

WASA Statement:

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in parts of Point Fortin and La Brea served by the Point Fortin Desalination Plant that there will be an interruption in their pipe borne water supply on 2021, September Wednesday 15, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

This has become necessary in order for the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission to carry out electrical maintenance on the transmission lines at the Distribution Station. Areas affected include:

Point Fortin, Parts of Techier, Vance River, Merrimac, Vessigny, TGU, La Brea (up to the Pitch Lake), Parrylands, Cochrane, Mahaica, Lot 10, Cochrane, Savannah, Harriman Park, Clifton Hill, Reservoir Hill.

Customers are further advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the supply to normalize to some affected areas, after the Plant returns to full operation.

For further information or assistance, customers are encouraged to contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426. A limited truck-borne water service will be available with priority given to special homes, health care and government institutions.

The Authority apologizes for the inconvenience caused as a result of this situation at the
Point Fortin Desalination Plant.
