WATCH: Union Rep Speaks Of COVID-19 Concerns At St. Ann’s Hospital

By Newsroom

The North-West Regional Health Authority is being accused of attempting to deceive staff at the St. Ann’s Hospital, as it relates to the COVID-19 situation at the medical facility.

In a video statement on Saturday, the Public Service Association union representative for St. Ann’s, Preston George, called on the NCRHA to correct their messaging to reflect the true story.

The union is calling for a parallel health system to be established.

His call comes one day after the National Trade Union Centre, NATUC, called on the Health Minister and Chief Medical Officer to address what it refers to as the disturbing news of possible spread of COVID-19 at the St. Ann’s Hospital.

Authorities have, in the past, denied there were any positive cases at the hosptital however NATUC said it was “reliably informed” that a hospital employee tested positive on August 22nd.
