$100,000 Bail For Man Charged With Raping Boy, 7

A 57-year-old mechanic was granted $100,000 bail with a surety when appeared before a Siparia Magistrate on November 19th charged with sexual penetration of a minor.

The man, who resides in Penal, was also instructed by the Magistrate to remain 100 feet away from the victim and also to have no form of communication with him.

The matter has been postponed to December 17th.

According to the victim, a seven-year-old boy, while he was at the home of his grandfather in November 2018, the man allegedly sexually assaulted him.

In a separate incident, a 49-year-old man was granted $250,000 bail when he appeared before San Fernando Magistrate charged with sexual penetration of a child.

The accused, of Plaisance Park, Point-a-Pierre, was instructed to stay away from the victim and to report to the Ste Madeleine Police Station once a week.

The charge arose out of an incident reported to have occurred in February 2020 in which a 13 year-old girl told police that she was sexually assaulted by a man known to her.
