A 19-year-old, ANTONIO FRANCOIS, of La Romain is expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate today, charged with the murders of 38-year-old Dr. Rudradeva Sharma and 19-year-old Akeem Marine, which occurred on Wednesday 15th January 2020.

He is additionally charged with the offences of kidnapping and robbery of Dr. Sharma and another victim, following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Joan Honore-Paul, on Tuesday 22nd January 2020.

According to a TTPS statement: “Around 1:50am on Wednesday 15th January 2020, officers responded to a road traffic accident in the vicinity of Macaulay Ext Road and Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway. Upon arrival they observed a white Honda CRV crashed in the median of the highway. There, they observed three persons including the accused and deceased Akeem Marine, lying on the roadway.
They also observed deceased Dr. Rudradeva Sharma with a wound to the head unresponsive, along with another victim trapped in the trunk of the CRV.”

Investigations were supervised by Insp (Ag.) Daryl Corrie, Insp (Ag.) Allistair Jones, Sgt. James and Cpl Forbes all of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 3, while Francois was charged by W/Cpl Bassarath.
