19-year-old charged with murder

A 19-year-old Felicity man is expected to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate tomorrow, September 6, charged with the 2021 murder of Shabiram Bandool. The accused, CHIARI SOVERALL, is presently being detained at the Golden Grove Maximum Security Prison in Arouca. Sixty-year-old Bandool, a taxi driver of Felicity, was found injured outside a vehicle in the area on February 5th 2021.

A 19-year-old Felicity man is expected to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate tomorrow, charged with the 2021 murder of Shabiram Bandool. CHIARI SOVERALL, who is presently detained at the Golden Grove Maximum Security Prison in Arouca, was charged with the offence, following advice received from Acting Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore-Paul, on Tuesday 30th August, 2022.

Bandool, 60, a taxi-driver of Felicity, was found injured outside a vehicle in the district on February 5th 2021. He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in a critical condition. Soverall was charged with the offence of wounding in connection with the incident and remanded into custody.

The victim however, died on June 25th, 2021, as a result of the injuries he sustained on February 5th, 2021. Investigations were supervised by Supt. (Ag.) Dhilpaul and Sgt. Jones, both of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Three. Soverall was charged with the offence by Cpl (Ag.) Augustus, also of HBI Region Three, on Monday 5th September, 2022.
