$22 Million For School Funding As Forms 4-6 Return To Physical Classes Next Monday

The Education Ministry says funding, in the aggregate amount of $22million for government and government assisted secondary schools has been made available ahead of the resumption of in-person classes next Monday.

In a statement, the Ministry said the School Supervision and Management Division began contacting principals  on Thursday for the collection of packages with the allocations to their respective schools.

“The Ministry of Education, working with the Ministry of Finance, has ensured that funds are supplied for the purchase of necessary equipment and materials for the completion of practicals and School Based Assessments (SBAs), in order to satisfy the requirements of various subjects at the Forms 4, 5 and 6 levels,” the statement read.

The new school arrangement will be hybrid style, with teachers mandated to manage a mix of in-person classes and virtual classes.
