Taxi drivers with registered vehicles will qualify for a one-off fuel relief grant from the State, meant to ease the financial strain brought on as a result of the pandemic. 

Taxi drivers and other transport providers have been operating at 50-75% capacity for the majority of the past three months, with those restrictions only being removed nearing the end of June. 

The Ministry of Works and Transport said drivers will be required to provide the following accompanying documents with a completed Relief Grant application form to the President of their respective Taxi Driver’s Association:

• Valid identification card

• Copy of valid insurance certificate for the taxi

• Copy of inspection certificate for taxi for the period January 2019 to present (a copy of the inspection receipt will not be accepted)

• Copy of the certified copy of vehicle registration for the taxi

The deadline for the submission of applications is August 28.
