A child was shot and wounded at Building Five Maloney on Friday morning while he was playing with a gun that he found at home. His younger brother was in the apartment, at the time but his parents were not. The people living nearby broke down the door of the apartment  around 11 a.m after they heard the gunshot followed by the sound of a crying child, whom they found bleeding when they entered the apartment. The injured boy was taken to the Arima hospital for treatment.
