On the crime front, 2020 started with two killings.

Jamal Bain was the first casualty. Just 15 minute into the New Year he was reported to have been in a confrontation with a police officer of the Special Forces Unit during which he was shot dead at Hermit Drive in Maloney.

Police reports suggest that Bain was suspect in several murders dating back to August 2018 but he successfully eluded arrest.

The first killing for 2020 that is classified as murder was reported at the Southern Main Road in California when Renaldo Chinapoo was shot dead around 6 30PM on  January 1st.

 Chinapoo, who was shot in the head, died at the Couva Health Facility.
