AG Receives Interim Report In Naipaul-Coolman Malicious Prosecution Matter

By Newsroom

Attorney General Reginald Armour has received an interim report on the investigation into the State’s failure to file a counter claim to the malicious prosecution suit in the Vindra Naipaul-Coolman case.

AG Reginald Armour received the file from lead investigator, Retired Justice Stanley John, today.

Back in January, the High Court delivered a default judgment awarding a total of $20million in damages to nine of the formerly accused in the businesswoman’s murder, given the State failed to mount a defense.

It was later revealed by AG Armour, that the file had “disappeared” from the Solicitor General’s office. The file resurfaced shortly after the probe was launchd.

An application was filed by the AG’s office earlier this week to have the ruling overturned.
