PM Keith Rowley has announced that from mid-January, all government workplaces will require vaccinated workers. He added that measures will be put in place to identify the vaccinated status of workers. Exceptions will be made for those with medical reasons.

PM Rowley said this has become necessary as, “In this pandemic of 2020 to the present, there is no other response that is known to be better than to be vaccinated. I am the bearer of that news. I am not the creator of those facts.”

The PM added that the public service will be shut down from December 24th to January 2nd.

Those who refuse will be made to go on furlough if they refuse these conditions and they will not be paid.

“Nobody is going to hold down anybody and inject them… You will make a decision if you are working with the Government, the State Enterprises as well,” he added.
