America To Donate Half A Billion Covid-19 Vaccines To Countries In Need

By Newsroom

US President Joe Biden on Thursday announced that the United States will donate 500 million Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines globally.

The move is an effort by the Biden Administration to reassert US leadership on the world stage, according to officials within the White House.

Ninety-two countries will benefit from the donation, according to President Biden, who did not name any country except to say it would be “low and lower middle income” nations.

“America will be the arsenal of vaccines in the fight against COVID-19, just as America was the arsenal of democracy during World Wr II.”  President Biden said as he made the announcement.

President Biden is currently visiting Europe, on his first overseas trip since being sworn in as President in January.

He met with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson this morning for talks which included resuming US travel to the UK.
