Arima market closed for sanitisation

The Arima market has been closed for sanitisation after a vendor displayed flu like symptoms. Arima mayor Lisa Morris-Julian issued the following statement on the matter:

“Today, a vendor displayed flu like symptoms. Immediate steps were taken to quarantine the vendor

and his produce. Subsequently, the decision was taken by the Chief Executive Officer in consultation with the Municipal Police to immediately shutdown the market. It will be sanitized with immediate effect in the upcoming days.

All steps are being taken to maintain the safety and health conditions for the Burgesses of Arima.”
