Arima Mayor Lisa Morris-Julian has been selected as the People’s National Movement’s candidate for D’abadie/O’Meara, completing the party’s slate of 41 candidates to contest the August 10th general election.
Morris-Julian appeared before a PNM Screening committee on Tuesday evening.
Her selection comes after the party’s initial candidate, Brigadier Ancil Antoine, was withdrawn for insensitive comments made about the US on a public platform.
Morris-Julian will go up against the United National Congress’ Maurice Hoyte.
