Arima MP Anthony Garcia issues apology for Stick fighting cancellation

By Newsroom

MP for Arima, Antony Garcia has apologised for the cancellation of the NCC’s Stick Fighting Competition last night (Feb. 7th).
Garcia issued the following statement: “I wish to offer my sincerest apologies to all persons who would have made their way to the Borough of Arima for the Stick Fighting Competition and be met with the events cancellation last evening.

It was not the intention of any of the parties involved in the staging of this show to have patrons impacted in this way. As in any performance, there are issues and challenges that may arise and last evening was one such instance.

The National Carnival Commission is working to bring the quickest resolve to the challenges which arose and communication will be subsequently released to the public.

The Borough of Arima will be the home of many more activities as the Carnival season progresses and we do look forward to hosting you at these events. I thank all of you for your patience and understanding last night and careful evaluation will be done to ensure that the inconvenience is not repeated.”
