Attorney In #GeorgeFloyd Case: “His Death Was Premeditated”

By Newsroom

Benjamin Crump- the attorney representing the family of George Floyd, who was killed in a police involved incident in Minneapolis, Minnesota last week, is arguing that the man’s death was premeditated.

Officer Derek Chauvin, who was fired following the incident, has been charged with third-degree murder. The matter is set to begin on Monday.

“The fact that officer Chauvin kept his knee on his neck for almost three minutes after he was unconscious. We don’t understand how that was not first degree murder. We don’t understand how all these officers haven’t been arrested,” lawyer Crump said an interview with CBS News on Sunday.

Massive protests have continued for another day across the US, as the #GeorgeFloyd case reignites the long standing issue of police brutality against black people in America.

Reports of police cars being smashed and looting in Philadelphia prompted President Donald Trump to tweet: “Law & Order in Philadelphia, NOW! They are looting stores. Call in our great National Guard”.

Several cities in the US have imposed curfews.
