Autopsy For Andrea Takes Place Today

By Newsroom

Investigators will receive a clearer idea of what took place in the final moments of kidnap and murder victim Andrea Bharatt’s life, as an autopsy on her body is scheduled to be completed at the Forensic Science Centre in St. James on Monday.

It comes after the young woman’s body was found off a precipice along the Heights of Aripo last Thursday, nearly one week after she was abducted after entering what she believed was a taxi.

Over the weekend, Police Commissioner Gary Griffith issued a statement rubbishing rumours that Bharatt’s internal organs had been removed, advising citizens to stay away from sharing baseless claims which could further traumatize the victim’s family.

Meanwhile, the two human remains which were subsequently found at the Heights of Aripo on Friday and Sunday have also been taken to Forensics to determine the identification.
