An autopsy is to be carried out on the body of Jeneka Guerra, to determine exactly how the woman died.

One week after she went missing, Guerra’s decomposing body was found buried in a shallow grave off Santa Barbara Road in Maracas, St Joseph on Thursday morning.

The discovery came just days after cops corrected a rumor that the woman’s body had been found, saying at the time that search efforts were still continuing.

Investigators were led to Guerra’s body on Thursday morning by a Venezuelan national who reportedly said he was given money to dig the grave.

When Guerra left her home one week ago, she was on her way to take the daughter of her male friend to the mall.

That man, investigators say, committed suicide hours before Guerra’s relatives reported her missing.
