An autopsy report has revealed that 18 year old murder victim Ashanti Riley’s cause of death was “sharp force injuries to right chest and lower abdomen, and blunt force trauma to the left chest.”

The autopsy was conducted  at the Forensic Sciences Centre on Wednesday morning. 

Investigators were reportedly hesitant to give the young woman’s family full details on the suffering she endured in her final hours, due to not wanting to add to their trauma.

Ashanti’s body was found in La Canoa, Santa Cruz last Friday, five days after she went missing on November 29.

She was last seen entering a private taxi in San Juan, to meet her boyfriend to go to her grandmother’s house for a birthday celebration.

The taxi driver and another man are now in police custody, with a third suspect being sought.

An autopsy report for Krystal Primus-Espinoza, whose body was found one day before Riley’s, was also scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
