By Newsroom

The deaths of 15 people who were found in a boat off the coast of Belle Garden in Tobago last month are believed to have died from dehydration, though autopsy reports came back inconclusive.

This was revealed in an update from police on Tuesday afternoon.

The grisly discovery was made back on May 28th, by fishermen who went out to sea on the Friday morning.

In providing the update on Tuesday, police say 13 of the bodies were confirmed as male while two others were so badly decomposed that they could not be determined.

The boat which was carrying the bodies originated from Mauritania, an African country located some 3,000 miles from Tobago.

Police say a quantity of Euros was found on the boat.
