Four days after baby Amarah Lalitte was brutally murdered and beheaded at her home in Arouca, the four-year-old girl’s stepfather has been charged with the crime.

Thirty-nine-year-old Ishan Constant is expected to appear in court on Monday.  

Meanwhile, Social support services have been provided for the parents and extended family of Amarah Lalitte.

Government Minister Camille Robinson Regis told the Parliament this afternoon that so far, a social worker has been assigned to the case, and a psychosocial assessment was conducted on the child’s mother.
