Barbados Opposition Files Injunction To Stop Elections

By Newsroom

The Opposition in Barbados, the Democratic Labour Party has filed an injunction seeking to stop the general election scheduled for tomorrow.

This is according to Prime Minister Mia Mottley, who made the revelation while on a political platform on the campaign trail  in St Lucy late last night.

Mottley, who called the snap election in late December, said the move by the DLP demonstrated the Opposition had little hope in unseating her party, the Barbados Labour Party.

“Why? Because they know they are losing,” she told supporters, adding “they are now trying everything to stop you from returning the Barbados Labour Party to government and allowing us to continue the mission of transformation.” Mottley said.

Barbadians are due to head to the polls tomorrow, January 19th.
