A burnt body was discovered in the trunk of a rental Hyundai Elantra along the Caroni South Bank Road on Monday night, which police believe may be the remains of missing US citizen Ghandi “Bobby” Ramlochan.

Advanced testing are to be carried out as the remains were burnt beyond recognition.

The 66-year-old New York resident is said to have arrived in Trinidad on Saturday night to celebrate his birthday. 

He was last seen on Sunday night by a friend on Monroe Road, Cunupia.

Ramlochan’s relatives in Trinidad have provided DNA samples to the Forensic Science Centre for testing.
