Businesswoman Granted $500K Bail For Vehicle Fraud

San Fernando businesswoman Terkessa Brereton-Duncan was granted half a million dollars bail after being slapped with nine charges linked to vehicle fraud.

The woman is alleged to have accepted $525,700 in downpayments from customers for the importation of several roll-on roll-off vehicles, however when she failed to honor the transactions, police determined she was never in a position to execute the sales.

She was arrested and jointly charged by Cpl Lewis and PCs Williams and Ali, of the Fraud Squad South Office.

The charges include five counts of Money Laundering totalling $154,700, Larceny in the amount of $153,000, Fraudulent Conversion in the amounts of $57,000, and $161,000 respectively, and Uttering a Forged Valuable Security.

She will appear in court on December 14th to answer the charges.
