In a rearrangement of Cabinet following the passing of former Energy Minister, Franklin Khan, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has made arrangements for Minister Stuart Young to replace the late Senator.

Dr. Rowley on Monday also advised Her Excellency Paula-Mae Weekes, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to, with immediate effect, in accordance with Sections 3(9), 76(3) and 79(1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, to reassign Fitzgerald Hinds to head the Ministry of National Security.

Meanwhile, picking up Hinds’ former responsibility, Mr. Foster Cummings will now serve as  Minister of Youth Development and National Service.

In addition to his new post in Energy, Young will continue  his duties as Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister.

Senator Khan, who spent nearly two decades of his life in politics, died last Friday of a heart attack. 

He had been battling a heart disease for years.
