Cache of Arms Seized in Princes Town

The TTPS has disclosed that following ongoing investigations a search warrant exercise was conducted on November 3 which resulted in the discovery of 14 firearms at a home in Princes Town.

According to police reports, around 1:40 p.m., officers proceeded to a home on St. Croix Road, Princes Town to execute a search warrant. The man named in the warrant was not at home at the time. However, the search was conducted in the presence of a female relative.

It resulted in the alleged discovery and seizure of four AK-47 rifles, one DRACO rifle, three M4 rifles, five AR pistols, a Ruger Precision 308 rifle, 14 lower receivers, six rifle magazines, a pistol magazine, a flash suppressor and one round of 7.62-millimetre ammunition.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 44-year-old Princes Town businessman. Enquiries are continuing. The exercise was spearheaded by ACP Subero, Snr Supts Alexander and Elie, and Supt Spence, coordinated by ASP Ramesar and supervised by Insp Forbes.

It involved Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) officers, Cpl Joseph, PCs Phillips, Nancoo, Baran, Campbell, Norbert, Jones Morris, Williams, St. Louis, Kurjah, and Smith; Guard and Emergency Branch (GEB) officers, PCs Celestine, Beharry, Davidson, and Williams, with the assistance of members of the Canine Unit, Cpl James with canine Felix, and Cpl St. Hilaire with canine Zianah.
