Central Division Officers Arrest Six After Suspected Robbery

Six suspects have been arrested and three motor vehicles which were involved in a robbery incident this morning, July 21 were intercepted following a multi-sectional exercise conducted in the Central Division.

According to the TTPS, the exercise was conducted between 3:10 am and 8:30 am, on Friday 21st July 2023, utilising resources from the Active Directed Patrols and coordinated by Snr. Supt. Simon, Supt. Ramjohn, Supt. Montrichard, ASP Dipchand and Insp. Stewart.

It also included officers of the Central Division Gang Unit, Central Division Task Force, Area North, Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department and Charge Room, Longdenville Police
Post, Cunupia Police Station, the Traffic and Highway Patrol Branch, the Central Division Operations Centre and the Air Support Unit.

Officers were strategically deployed and a cordon was held and maintained which resulted in the interception of three vehicles and the arrest of six suspects.

Five men ages 20 to 26 from various districts and one 17-year-old of Laventille, were arrested in connection with a report of robbery. Investigations are ongoing into the matter.
