During a protest this morning, Central Market vendors said the Port of Spain City Corporation has stopped garbage trucks from coming into the market to pick up waste and they are now forced to drag overflowing bins hundreds of feet to empty them. 

The workers also complained about a shortage of chemicals to clean and sanitize the market.

They are now calling on Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley and Local Government Minister Kazim Hosein to visit the market and see their plight, first-hand.
