A Chaguanas man appeared before a Master of the High Court, earlier this week, Monday 15th April 2024 charged with the murder of Jaheem Lewis, which occurred on March 31st, 2024.

According to the TTPS, KARINME GARDNER, aka “Coco”, 29, of Enterprise, was charged with the offence when he appeared before Master De Silva in the High Court on Monday 15th April 2024.

The Sufficiency Hearing is set for October 30th, 2024. Lewis, 18, of Enterprise, Chaguanas, was shot along the roadway at Bhagaloo Street, on March 31st, 2024. He was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility where he later died. One male suspect was arrested in connection with the matter by officers of the Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department, on April 9th, 2024.

Investigations were supervised by Supt. Dhilpaul, ASP Persad, Insp. Maharaj and Sgt. Bridgemohan, all of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Three.

Gardner was charged by WPC Rampersad, also of HBI Region Three on Friday 12th April, 2024, following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Sabrina Dougdeen-Jaglal on that same date.
