The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard (TTCG) is continuing search efforts for 14 year old Matthew Sookoo, who reportedly fell off a vessel approximately six hundred (600) feet from shore and disappeared in the vicinity of Fullerton, near Cedros, on Saturday.

In a statement on Sunday, the TTCG said: “A Coast Guard vessel which was in the area was immediately redeployed to commence searches in partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) and other local stakeholders, including fishermen.”

The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard pledged to continue to use every available resource to locate and recover the missing child.

“Citizens are however advised to exercise extreme caution when engaged in activities at sea,” it cautioned.

This is the second search effort of this nature being conducted by the TTCG this month. 

The body of 30 year old Qadir  Shah was found on March 12th, nearly one week after he disappeared in the waters off Turtle Rock on the North Coast of Trinidad.
