Cops Arrest Three As Drugs, Guns Seized In Anti-Crime Exercise

Three men from the Cocoyea area were arrested by Southern Division Task Force officers on Saturday, for offences including cocaine and marijuana possession, obscene language, disorderly behaviour, and resisting arrest.

During the exercise, which took place between 2pm and 9pm, officers also received information and proceeded to a bushy area off of the M2 Ring Road, Ste Madeleine. A search was conducted and one 12-gauge shotgun was found.

Several drug blocks in the Pleasantville, La Romaine, and Mon Repos police districts were also targeted. This resulted in a quantity of marijuana weighing 343 grammes being found behind the pan yard along Pleasantville Terrace.

The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Yusuff Gaffar, Supt Doodhai, ASP Ali Mohammed, Insp Teeluck, supervised by Sgt Joseph, Cpl Charles and included PCs Branch, Raghonanan, Legendre, Samaroo, Maxwell, Ramdhanie, Guerra, Loutan, Baisden, Phagoo, Lake, Ramkissoon and Woodruff along with officers from the Canine Unit.
