Two Professional Standards Bureau police officers have appeared before a virtual court, to answer to the charge of conspiracy to pervert the course of public justice.

The offence was allegedly committed on 8th November, 2019.

Sergeant Rajesh Gokool, last attached to the Central Division, has 25 years’ of service.

The other officer, Sergeant Ken Ali, was last attached to the Northern Division with 19 years’ service.

Both men appeared before Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan via a virtual hearing on Tuesday at the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court.

They were each granted bail in the sum $100,000 with a surety.

The matter has been postponed to July 6th.
